Residential Plumbing and Commercial Plumbing experience preferred.

Schedule: Full time, Monday–Friday, plus on-call rotation

About the Role:

J.J. Kokesh & Son has served St. Louis since 1894. You’d be running cable, jetter, and camera on residential and commercial calls, working alongside our union-trained, St. Louis County licensed plumbers. Drain and sewer is your lane and you own it, along with labor on jobs as appropriate. When a job crosses into work that requires a plumbing license, one of our plumbers takes it from there.

What You’ll Do:

• Cable sink, tub, floor, and main lines using sectional and drum machines
• Run hydro jetting on grease and heavy buildup
• Camera and locate sewer lines, then explain to the homeowner what the screen is showing
• Diagnose recurring stoppages and identify root intrusion, bellies, offsets, and pipe failure
• Document findings with photos and video so the customer and the office both have the record
• Hand off to a licensed plumber when the repair calls for one
• Keep your truck stocked, your equipment maintained, and the customer’s home cleaner than you found it

What We’re Looking For:

• 1+ years running drain cable professionally. This is not an entry-level opening
• Comfortable on sectional and drum machines; camera and locator experience is a strong plus
• Able to work in basements, crawl spaces, and tight mechanical rooms, and to lift 50 lbs
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Someone who explains the problem instead of talking around it. Our customers stay customers because they trust what they’re told
• On-call rotation availability

You do not need to have grown up in the trade or come up through a big shop. Run cable well, treat people’s homes with respect, and we want the conversation.

This is a union position. J.J. Kokesh & Son is a union-affiliated company and our field plumbers are union members. This drain and sewer role is part of the union agreement.

About the Role:

At J.J. Kokesh and Son, we don’t just fix pipes; we take care of our neighbors. We are looking for a highly organized, calm-under-pressure Service Dispatcher to be the heartbeat of our office. You will be the first point of contact for our customers and the primary navigator for our team of union plumbers.

What You’ll Do:

• The “Traffic Controller”: Efficiently schedule and dispatch our plumbers to residential and commercial calls across the St. Louis area.
• Customer Advocate: Answer incoming calls with a helpful, positive attitude—turning a stressful plumbing emergency into a solved problem for our clients.
• Route Optimization: Manage our service software to ensure technicians are on the most efficient paths, minimizing drive time and maximizing service.
• Team Liaison: Act as the primary link between our field crew and the office, ensuring plumbers have the information they need to succeed at every job.
• Admin Support: Assist with work orders, clerical work, and maintaining our 130-year-old reputation for reliability.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 2+ years of dispatching or heavy scheduling experience (HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical experience is a huge plus).
• Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the St. Louis/St. Charles County geography.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with dispatching software, Google Workspace, and multi-line phone systems.

• Communication: Clear, concise, and calm communication skills—both on the phone and email.
